Chapter 18 - Statistics

Negotiations under Chapter 18, which relate to statistics, include the harmonization of the legal regulations of the Republic of Serbia with the EU’s acquis communautaire. This chapter is considered very important since the positive changes resulting from a productive negotiation process will provide better quality, availability and credibility of the data. Reliable and comparable statistics are preconditions for successful negotiations; therefore this role of statistics is particularly evident in the fields of economy, finance, agriculture and regional policy.

In addition to this (Chapter 18), SORS is directly involved in the work of another 16 negotiating chapters.  

At the Intergovernmental Conference of the European Union and Republic of Serbia, held on December 10, 2018, Chapter 18 - Statistics was officially opened.
