The European Commission, through European Union Delegation to Serbia, has awarded for the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia a direct grant within the IPA 2016 National Programme, which shall further ensure the implementation of the Farm Structure Survey. The overall objective of the action is to develop efficient and sustainable statistical systems capable of providing reliable, objective and accurate data needed to plan and monitor the process of transition and reform in the Republic of Serbia.
One of the major sources of agricultural statistics, along with Agricultural Census, is Farm Structure Survey (FSS). At the European level, the data obtained through this survey play a key role in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). Farm Structure Survey is the backbone of the agricultural statistical system, which provides micro-data on agricultural labour force, land use, livestock, and equipment etc. In addition to that, data collected at farm level through FSS represent the framework for further statistical surveys in the field of agriculture, and also for monitoring structural changes in farms and farming practices.
The pilot survey is taking place from 20.11 – 30.11.2017, and fieldwork will be held from1.10 – 30.11.2018. The results will be published in 2019.
