The division covers: presidential, parliamentary and local elections, as well as referendums. The changing of the socio-economic and political system and introducing of multiparty system were established by the Constitution of the Republic of Serbia from 1990. The following laws enabled proportional electorate system for deputies to the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, and since 2002, also for the election of board members of assemblies of municipalities and cities. The whole territory of the Republic of Serbia presents a single electoral unit, and regarding local elections, it is the whole territory of municipality. i.e. city.
