Economic accounts for agriculture are an integral part of the system of national accounts. They provide specific data on economic activities in agriculture, which could not be visible in the system of national accounts as they are either indirectly used in the calculations or form an integral part of the categories presented on the higher level. In addition, these accounts are regarded as complementary to agricultural statistics, in a manner that agricultural variables are consistent with the concepts and definitions of national accounts. Economic accounts for agriculture are intended to ensure a conceptual framework for integrating agricultural statistics and its economic implications, which means, first and foremost, contribution of agriculture to the economy.
