In the second quarter of 2026, 50 054 passenger vehicles, 5 923 lorries (trucks) and 201 buses were registered for the first time. In the same period, a total of 3 679 traffic accidents with casualties were recorded, in which 4 967 people were injured, while 105 people were killed.
In terms of age structure, a remarkably high share of newly registered vehicles is made up of vehicles older than two years. Among passenger cars, 74.8% of first-time registered vehicles are older than two years. A similar trend is observed for lorries (trucks) (71.0%), as well as for special purpose motor vehicles (62.3%).
