The Minister of Justice, Nela Kuburović, and Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS), Miladin Kovačević, signed on April 17th, 2018 the Protocol on electronic data exchange between the Ministry of Justice and the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia.

By improving the judicial information system, conditions for improving the cooperation between these two institutions have been created, in the form of electronic data exchange from the records under their jurisdiction, and in accordance with positive legal regulations.

The Minister Kuburović particularly thanked the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia and the Director Kovačević for the cooperation so far, emphasizing that SORS provided an immense contribution in the establishment of the profession of public notaries, thus enabling public notaries to start working as planned, on September 1st, 2014.

Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, Miladin Kovačević, pointed out that electronic data exchange between judicial authorities on one hand and state authorities on the other hand stopped the practice of collecting data through paper questionnaires. He added that the electronic data exchange will contribute to reducing the budget costs and the courts’ burden, as well as to increased quality of statistics in the field of judiciary.
