External trade, for September 2023


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January- September 2023 amounted to:

   - USD 52753.4 million - which was an increase of 0.2% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 48704.8 million - which was a decrease of 1.3% compared to the same period last year.

The value of exports amounted to USD 23287.6 million, which was 7.3% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 29465.8 million, which was 4.8% decrease relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 21503.3 million, which was 5.6% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 27201.5 million, which was 6.1% decrease when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 6178.2 million, which was a decrease of 33.2% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 5698.2 million, which was a decrease of 33.9% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 79.0% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 70.1%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 59.5% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2268.1 million, resulting mainly from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, beverages, oil and oil derivatives and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 3629.4 million, while the imports were USD 1361.3 million. The export– import ratio equalled 266.6 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 3349.4 and imports to 1257.7 million (surplus amounted to EUR 2091.7 million and export – import ratio equalled 266.3%).
