The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January-October 2024 amounted to:
- USD 61625.5 million - which was an increase of 4.8% compared to the same period last year;
- EUR 56661.5 million - which was an increase of 4.1% compared to the same period last year.
The value of exports amounted to USD 26595.8 million, which was 2.6% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 35029.7 million, which was 6.4% increase relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 24452.6 million, which was 1.9% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 32208.9 million, which was 5.7% increase when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 8433.9 million, which was an increase of 20.5% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 7756.2 million, which was an increase of 19.8% compared to the same period last year.
The export - import ratio equalled 75.9% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 78.7%.’
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 58.6% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 2580.3 million, resulting from the exports of cereals and produces thereof, beverages, oil and oil derivatives, electricity and road vehicles. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 4061.3 million, while the imports were USD 1481.0 million. The export– import ratio equalled 274.2 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 3733.6 and imports to 1360.4 million (surplus amounted to EUR 2373.2 million and export – import ratio equalled 274.4%).
