External trade, February 2025


The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for the period January - February 2025 amounted to:

   - USD 11533.9 million - which was an increase of 0.1% compared to the same period last year;

   - EUR 11110.1 million - which was an increase of 4.7% compared to the same period last year.

The value of exports amounted to USD 4853.5 million, which was 5.1% decrease when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 6680.4 million, which was 4.2% increase relative to the same period last year.

Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 4675.1 million, which was 0.6% decrease, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 6435.0 million, which was 9.0% increase when compared to the same period last year.

The deficit amounted to USD 1826.9 million, which was an increase of 40.8% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to 1759.8 million, which was an increase of 47.0% compared to the same period last year.

The export - import ratio equalled 72.7% and was lower if compared to the same period last year when it was 79.8%.

The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 56.1% of total external trade.

Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 477.1 million, resulting from the exports of electricity, cereals and produces thereof, oil and oil derivatives, medical and pharmaceutical products and beverages. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 745.4 million, while the imports were USD 268.3 million. The export– import ratio equalled 277.8 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to 717.8 and imports to 258.7 million (surplus amounted to EUR 459.1 million and export – import ratio equalled 277.5%).
