A ceremonial event marking the 100th anniversary of the statistical service of the Kyrgyz Republic was held on 23 April 2026 at the State Residence of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic “Ala-Archa”.
The anniversary gathering brought together representatives of state institutions, international partners, experts, veterans, and employees in the field of statistics. Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, Baktybek Kudaibergenov, emphasized that a century of work reflects the dedication of many generations of professional and highlighted the key role of statistics in public administration and the country’s development.
Following the ceremonial event, the international forum “Modernisation of Statistical Business Processes: Formation of a New Ecosystem of Official Statistics” was held.
The forum brought together heads of national statistical offices and experts from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, Serbia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of the United Nations system, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Eurasian Economic Commission, and the World Bank Group.
The forum addressed key topics including the digital transformation of statistics, the application of innovative technologies, the integration of new data sources, and the development of human resources.
Mr. Branko Josipović, Acting Director of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia, delivered a notable presentation entitled “Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence: Strengthening Trust, Accessibility and Decision Support”, presenting modern approaches to improving statistical systems through the application of digital solutions and artificial intelligence.
The conclusions of the forum highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation and the continued development of a modern ecosystem of official statistics.
