The overall external trade in the Republic of Serbia for January - March 2026 amounted to:
- USD 22272.2 million - which was an increase of 15.1% compared to the same period last year;
- EUR 19027.6 million - which was an increase of 3.3% compared to the same period last year.
The value of exports amounted to USD 10196.8 million, which was 19.3% increase when compared to the same period last year, while the value of imports amounted to USD 12075.4 million, which was 11.7% increase relative to the same period last year.
Expressed in Euros, the value of exports amounted to EUR 8713.2 million, which was 7.1% increase, compared to the same period last year. The value of imports amounted to EUR 10314.4 million, which was 0.3% increase when compared to the same period last year.
The deficit amounted to USD 1878.7 million, which was a decrease of 17.0% in relation to the same period last year. The deficit expressed in Euros amounted to EUR 1601.2 million, which was a decrease of 25.4% compared to the same period last year.
The export - import ratio equalled 84.4% and was higher if compared to the same period last year when it was 79.1%.
The external trade in the reference period noted the highest level with the counties with which we have signed agreements on free trade. European Union member countries account for 59.2% of total external trade.
Our second major partner refers to the CEFTA countries, since our gained surplus in external trade amounted to USD 866.0 million, resulting from the exports of cereals and produces thereof, medical and pharmaceutical products, road vehicles, beverages, electrical machines and apparatus. Our exports in the referent period amounted to USD 1288.8 million, while the imports were USD 422.8 million. The export– import ratio equalled 304.8 %. Expressed in EUR, exports amounted to EUR 1101.0 million and imports to EUR 361.3 million (surplus amounted to EUR 739.7 million and export – import ratio equalled 304.7%).
